Recap: Let’s Talk Housing

National experts from the Housing Trust Fund Project of the Center for Community Change conducted a half-day communications training in Atlanta on November 1. Trainers Katy Heins and Michael Anderson provided insight learned from decades of research about the effectiveness of values based messaging and presented examples of how aligned messages and messengers have been used to heighten the success of local advocacy efforts.

As part of the training, diverse participants from Atlanta’s housing community began to collaboratively develop a values based message about the need for affordable homes that will prepare them to advocate with a disciplined and focused message that is broadly resonant with the public, the media, and decision makers.
