On December 17, Georgia ACT was honored to support Beloved Community Development Corporation’s Zawadi for Kids Annual Toy Giveaway, a beloved community tradition that brings smiles, hope, and holiday joy to children and families.
Through Zawadi for Kids, children receive toys in a safe, loving, and culturally affirming environment, ensuring that the holiday season is filled with joy and dignity for families who might otherwise go without. In addition to the toy giveaway, Beloved Community Development Corporation continues its weekly distribution of 30-pound food boxes, meeting both immediate and ongoing needs for households facing economic hardship.
Rev. Dr. F. Keith Slaughter and Mrs. Slaughter shared a powerful testimony about the impact of Georgia ACT’s support, not just in resources, but in partnership, trust, and standing alongside grassroots leaders who are deeply rooted in the community and directly connected to the people they serve.This is what on-the-ground impact looks like.
