
Georgia ACT is thrilled to announce that Dr. Bambie Hayes-Brown, President and CEO, has been elected as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC).
This prestigious appointment was confirmed during NLIHC’s March 2025 Board of Directors Meeting and Annual Policy Forum in Washington, D.C. Dr. Hayes-Brown’s election marks a significant milestone, as she brings over 29 years of experience in affordable housing, community development, and economic justice to this national leadership role.
As Chair, Dr. Hayes-Brown will guide NLIHC’s mission to achieve equitable public policy that ensures people with the lowest incomes have quality homes that are accessible and affordable in communities of their choice. Her leadership at Georgia ACT has been instrumental in advocating for policies that promote affordable housing and equitable community development throughout Georgia.
Dr. Hayes-Brown’s dedication to housing and her extensive experience make her uniquely qualified to lead NLIHC’s Board. Her appointment reflects a commitment to elevating voices from the South and ensuring that policies are informed by those with lived experiences of housing insecurity.
