People, Place, Policy
Georgia Advancing Communities Together, Inc. (Georgia ACT) is a statewide membership organization of nonprofit housing and community development organizations. Our mission is to build and support a statewide network of thriving member organizations and train professionals engaged in housing and community development serving families with limited housing choices.
Your giving to Georgia ACT helps us to advocate for increased resources, favorable federal, state, and local policy for families with limited housing choices. Your giving to Georgia ACT helps us to provide technical assistance to mission-based housing developers, municipalities, and front-line grassroots affordable housing and community development agencies.
Georgia ACT partnered with another organization to lead a key role in the passage of an inclusionary zoning ordinance that that took effect in the City of Atlanta. Over 170 individuals representing non-profits, for-profits, and grassroots citizens have attended Georgia ACT’s Annual Housing Day at the Capitol. Housing advocates, from as far away as Warner Robins and Valdosta, engaged Governor Nathan Deal, Georgia State Senate and House Representatives, and other elected officials on affordable housing issues and advocated for legislation that supports affordable housing and community development initiatives throughout the State of Georgia.
Your giving helps Georgia ACT continue to present federal and state policy updates and workshops around the state including Elberton, Macon, Cordele, Fitzgerald and Albany. Your giving helps Georgia ACT continue to advocate in Washington, DC for favorable federal housing policy including increased housing for seniors, veterans, children, and other vulnerable populations.
